How is this affecting you? Help shape the future - complete our short survey

Are you aware of the changes proposed for public health services? Are the effects of these changes already being felt? Please complete the survey below - tell us what is happening to you and the service you provide. We want to work as effectively as we can to protect the services you provide and the pay, terms and conditions which you deserve.

In November of 2010, the Department of Health published its consultation on the future of public health services in England, Healthy Lives, Healthy People. Amongst other things it is proposed to create a new body, Public Health England, and to transfer responsibility for a wide range of public health services to local authorities.

The RCN submitted a comprehensive response raising the issues that you told us were the most important to you: nursing involvement in public health services, ring fenced funding, and the potential impact upon your pay, pension, terms and conditions. You can read our full response here.

The Government has now issued its response to the consultation, which has taken on board some of the issues we raised, and further outlined future plans for public health services. You can read the Government response in full here. However, we know there is still much to be addressed by the Government.

Your involvement is crucial to inform the case that we make on your behalf.
