NMC fee increase: what do you think?

The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) has announced plans to increase the annual registration fee for nurses and midwives from £76 to £120. This is a rise of nearly 60%.

The RCN believes it is unfair and wrong that nurses and midwives are being asked to provide a financial bail-out for the NMC, particularly at a time when our members are in the midst of a two-year pay freeze and facing increased pension contributions.

Please help us to fight these plans by telling us what you think about the proposed fee rise, and the way in which professional regulation is funded.
